Readathin 2024 Reading Guide Announcement

Hey everyone! Bet you didn’t expect to be seeing this post 👀

My absolutely lovely best friend and co-host of Readathin (MomsBookCollection) and I have talked multiple times of how to kind of expand on Readathin and we came up with a yearly reading guide! I can’t wait to get into talking about this, so let’s just get right into this so I can!

November Hopefuls | Readathin, FND Charity Readathon, Phase Out Your TBR, & More

Hey everyone! It’s kind of been a while? Kind of. So, I tried switching to a different account a couple years ago and it just… hasn’t been going over well. But after much deliberating and much breaking of accounts, I decided to just bring this one back and kind of just keep going. I’m not going to back track and mess with all those posts. The other website is still active for now, but I won’t be using it for posting anymore.

ANYWAY. Let’s start off this month strong with a nice solid TBR post. Now, I’m doing 3 readathons, a bingo challenge, and I plan out my TBR by playing Phase 10. We’ll start by talking about that because I have A LOT to say about that game.

So, let’s just get into this thing and stop jabbering on!

Books I Read in August 2020

Good morning everyone! Today is going to be another quick post from me because it’s going to be my August wrap up! I only read 3 books in August. So it’ll be really quick and easy to go over them.

That being said, let’s get right into this.

August TBR | Readathin

Good morning everyone! Today I’m going to be talking about the books that I plan on reading for the month of August. Most of these books will count toward Readathin, but my “official” TBR for Readathin is in my announcement video, which you can watch here.

I’m going to start by going over some ARCs that I would like to get to and then the other books that I plan on reading. I don’t have set plans on forms that I’m going to be reading these in (pretty much, if I’m going to be physically reading them or listening to them on audiobook). Some of them I know I’d prefer to listen to, but I don’t know if I’ll be able to get them.

I plan on going through and doing that after I’m done working on this post.

Last before I get into the actual post, since this is going up at 8am my time, there’s still a chance for you to join in! I am currently doing a 24hr readathon to kick off Readathin. I am just hoping I can get a decent amount of reading done.

Okay, let’s get into this TBR!

May TBR | Readathin & Tome Topple Round 11

Good evening everyone! I hope you’re doing well on this lovely Tuesday. I can’t believe it’s already Tuesday. I wasted away Monday without even realizing it, but it was needed and nice.

Today I’m going to be getting into my TBR for May. These are going to be the books that I plan on reading for Readathin and Tome Topple.

I ended up filming a very sporadic TBR, but I’ve made changes to that so I have to refilm that one. So my video will be going up later than planned. I plan to have a 24hr reading vlog going up today! Step 1: actually edit it.

But let’s get into my TBR!

Readathin Announcement | May 2020

Today I’m announcing Readathin for May! We decided this time to follow a theme. So keep reading for more information!

February & Readathin TBR | 2020

Well, good morning everyone! I hope you all have had a wonderful week and now we are looking forward to the weekend!

Today I’m going to discuss my TBR for Readathin. Now, I ended up filming the video for my TBR a few days ago and I’ve finished some of these books already, so you’ll be hearing about them in my wrap up.

So make sure you check out my wrap up when that comes out to see what books I read in January from this list.

So I didn’t post the video, but I decided to change how I’m doing my TBRs. I’m going to go through my new setup, and then go through the Readathin challenges and show you what books I’ve chosen for those! Just be warned, there are a ton of books.

Readathin TBR

So that’s it! If you want to see how these books I mentioned fit into each challenge for Readathin, then go check out my video. Also, don’t forget to comment on either the video or this post letting me know what you plan on reading!

Thanks so much for joining me and I’ll see you all in the next one! Bye!

Readathin Announcement! | Round 11

Hey everyone! How are you all doing? I hope you’re doing well. It’s time to share the challenges for the February 2020 round of Readathin!

So, for those of you that don’t know, things have changed up a bit for Readathin this round and for further notice. I’m, obviously, still hosting Readathin, but joining me this round is Donna from @MomsBookCollection 😁

I’m so excited to be hosting this with her. We host another readathon together that is only held once a year so I’m excited the two of us will be working on this together.

Donna has been around since the beginning and has supported this readathon so much. We have some fun things coming this round!

Readathin is a month long readathon that is held in February, May, August, and November every year. I’ve been doing this for a couple years and its had its ups and downs, but we’re here in 2020 with some nice changes and hopefully Readathin will continue to grow.

The goal for Readathin is to “thin” out your TBRs. The idea sprouted when I was replying to a tweet one day and accidentally typed readathin instead of readathon. Then I made a joke about a readathon and thus Readathin started.

While you can read any books you have on your TBR, the main purpose of the readathon is to read books from your physical TBR (or eTBR since we all know those can get out of hand as well).

During February your goal is to read as many books that you already own as you can! Obviously, don’t force yourself to read more than you’re comfortable with. Take the time to enjoy the books, but also make sure you’re working on your physical TBR.

Readathin has taken the plunge and has joined Instagram! We figured that since we have a photo challenge, it would be more organized to have an Instagram where we can share news and any photos that you all share.

We also have a Twitter, but I will be the first to admit I suck at keeping up with Twitter. So there’s a high likelihood that the Twitter will slowly trickle out. But for now, it’s still there and still going!

Now, onto the thing you all actually care about. The challenges!

There are more challenges than normal, but I want to emphasis that you DON’T HAVE TO DO THEM ALL. Don’t feel overwhelmed. You don’t have to do any of the challenges if you don’t want to.

Feel free to save this template and use it in your Instagram stories to keep track of the challenges you’ve completed.

And here’s the photo challenge!

Feel free to save and share these! If you have any questions on any of these challenges, don’t hesitate to ask! Send one of the hosts a message or one on the Readathin Instagram.

I really hope that you all can join us! It’s going to be a fun time!

Thanks for joining me! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Stop whatever you’re doing and find a mirror or even use the front camera on your phone.

Out loud, tell yourself 5 positive things about yourself. Talk like you’re best friend is having a bad day and you’re trying to make them feel better.

Because you should be your own best friend. You should be the best friend that empowers. Be your own best friend. Be your own rock. You are stuck with you, so accept your flaws and love yourself for them.

See you all soon! Bye!

November Wrap Up | Readathin

Good morning everyone! I hope you had a good week and are enjoying your weekend. Today I’m discussing the books I read in November and how they counted toward Readathin.

First, thank you to everyone who joined! This round wasn’t the best for me, but I hope it went well for you.

So, let’s get into what books I read, the stats, and my rating. If I have a review, I’ll link it. Also, click on the cover of the book and you can purchase the book from my Amazon Associates Link. I will get a small percentage of your purchase and it will only cost you what Amazon is charging for the book. It helps me out and I’ll be eternally grateful!

So that’s it. Yup. I read 2 books for Readathin. Two. I completed two challenges.

Read a new to you author by reading You by Caroline Kepnes and reading a spooky book I meant to get to in October by reading Slasher Girls and Monster Boys.

Like I said, I hope you all had a better reading month than me. Just a warning, December won’t be much better. Christmas romance movies have taken over my December 😂

Comment with your favorite read of November! I’ll definitely see you all, well, tomorrow with another announcement post! I have an announcment, then a TBR, the another announcement planned! So be ready to mark your calendars!

See you all then! Task for today: smile at someone. Many someone’s. You don’t need a reason. When you walk by someone, just give them a smile and if you’re feeling ambitious, tell them to have a wonderful day or holiday. It could mean more to someone than you’ll ever know. And it’ll help you. Even faking it until you make it can help when it comes to your mood.

I am giving you this task (and I hope to continue to do this, giving you all tasks to do that day to make your life brighter, happier, and more productive) because this morning when i was getting ready to leave work, I was in a horrible mood. I don’t know what happened. My mood just plummeted after my last break. To the point where my best friend asked if I was mad at him and another friend asked what was wrong. I don’t want to be that person. When I’m having a bad day, I don’t want other people to think it’s their fault or that I’m mad at them for something.

So smile today. Tell people to have a wonderful day and holiday. It could mean a lot. A coworker from another shift who I barely know and don’t talk to often asked me where something was supposed to go. After I told her, she looked me dead in the eyes and told me that I had beautiful eyes. I couldn’t help but to smile. It’s the little things that can make all the difference in someone’s day. Be that brightness for someone, even if that someone is yourself. Smile at yourself in the mirror this morning.

I appreciate you all and hope you have a wonderful day today.

Mid-Month Check-in | November 2019

Good evening everyone! I’m sorry this post is going up so late in the day. I’ve been really busy lately. Aka I haven’t been managing my time well. But here we are. Let’s talk about the books I’ve already read this month, whether they count for Readathin or not, the books I’m currently reading, and the rest of the books on my TBR.

My Buzzwordathon TBR will be going up with weekend, so I won’t be talking about those books, but let’s talk about everything else!

Remember, all the covers are linked to the Amazon page through my Amazon Associates links. You can click the link, buy the books and anything else you wanted, and I’ll get a portion of the proceeds for sending you there. It’s an affiliate link and I would be eternally grateful if you used it! Thanks in advance!

Books I’ve Finished

I got this book from Entangled Publishing for my honest review. Thank you so much Entangled Teen for sending me this book.

I did review it and you can check out that review here.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book and I do hope that you check it out!

This was actually one of my favorite anthologies I’ve read. I plan on reading more anthologies for my “Learning My Reading Preferences” series I’m doing.

But I liked more of these stories than ones I didn’t like. Which is always a good thing. Normally it’s a mix of both ones I like and ones I don’t. But this one was a nice collection of ones I liked. There were a couple I didn’t like, for example a zombie one, but that’s because I don’t care for zombies in general.

I got this book from Give Me Books Promotions to review for the release of the second book in this series, Exquisitely Hidden.

Unfortunately I couldn’t connect with this book. I couldn’t root for the relationship and I just wasn’t into the story. I’m excited to read the sequel, though. It follows two characters I’m really interested in the story of.

I loved this book so much. It was hot, steamy, and relatable. These characters are so wonderful. I love them and wish I had more of them.

Books Left on My TBR

This book is free on Kindle Unlimited

I have more on my TBR but these are priority. So I’m going to be working on those first.

Thank you so much for joining me. Let me know in the comments what books you’ve finished so far this month.

In relation to how these fit with Readathin, You and Slasher Girls and Monster Boys will count. That’s about it. Oh, and The Elite. I hope to get more read throughout the month, but we’ll see since we’re already half done.

Again, thanks so much for joining and I’ll see you all in the next one.
